Moonrise Mini Golf, published by Moonrise Studios · Last updated 25 September 2026

The short version. We don't sell your data, show ads or run analytics, and we have no servers of our own. Playing solo sends nothing to us. To let you play online with friends, the game uses Meta's platform (your Meta name and an ID Meta makes for this game) and Unity's online services (an anonymous player ID, your IP address and, if you use it, live voice). Voice goes live to the players in your game and is never recorded or stored by us. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, wherever you live, for free.

Who we are

"Moonrise Studios", "we" and "us" means the publisher of Moonrise Mini Golf (the "game"). This policy explains what data the game handles and why. For questions, or to use any of your rights, email moonrisestudiovr@gmail.com.

What the game collects and why

DataWhere it comes fromWhat it's used for
Meta user ID (an ID Meta creates for this game only) and your Meta display name / username The Meta Platform SDK, from the Meta account signed in on your headset
  • Confirm the game was obtained from the Meta Horizon Store (the entitlement check at launch).
  • Show your name on your name tag to the other players in your game.
  • Let players report or block each other.
Your Meta ID and name are shared only with the other players in your game (online, or on your local network), and kept on their headsets only while you play together.
Your Meta block list (the IDs of people you've blocked) The Meta Platform SDK Honour your blocks: players you've blocked are muted for you. It is read on your headset and not sent anywhere.
Anonymous online player ID Unity Authentication, created the first time you host or join an online game. No email, password or name is attached, and it isn't linked to your Meta account by us. Connect you to online games and to voice chat, and tell players apart within a game.
IP address and basic connection data Your headset, when it connects to Unity's online services Deliver online play. Unity's Relay and voice servers need your IP address to send game and voice data to you. Online, other players connect through the Relay, so they don't see your IP address. In a local-network game ("on this network"), devices connect directly and the host's local network address is shown to the people joining.
Live game data during an online game: the join code and session name, your head, hand, putter and ball positions, your ball style, strokes and scores The game on each player's headset Show each player's avatar, ball and score to the others in real time. It passes through Unity's Relay service and is not stored by us.
Voice audio, only if you use voice chat Your headset's microphone. The game asks for microphone permission only when voice starts, and you can refuse, turn the microphone off in the game, or mute anyone at any time. Sent live through Vivox, Unity's voice service, to the players in your game so you can talk while you play. Vivox also receives a generic device label ("Quest"), not your name. (The optional "Nearby" voice setting fades friends' voices with distance on your own headset; your position isn't sent to Vivox.) Vivox processes the audio in real time only to deliver it; we never record or store voice.
Reports you file: the player you report, the reason you pick, the optional note you type, and technical context (game version, and whether you were in an online game) You, through the game's Report panel and Meta's report window Review conduct and act on it. Reports are sent through Meta's reporting tools. Meta's report window may offer to attach a short recording; that's your choice, and Meta handles it.
Settings, personal bests and fit data: your preferences, tutorial progress, best scores, personal-best replays, ball style, your putter fit (controller positions saved when you fit the putter) and, if you run it, the hidden developer performance check's report (frame rates, no personal data) The game Remember your preferences and records. Stored only on your headset and never sent to us or anyone else.

We don't collect your real name, email address, location, contacts or payment details. We don't use advertising or analytics tools, and we don't build profiles about you. The game is free and has no purchases.

Service providers

These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. We share data with them only to run the features described above. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect people's safety.

Why we're allowed to use it

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on:

You can withdraw consent at any time by muting, turning the microphone off in the game, or turning off the microphone permission for the game in your headset's settings.

How long data is kept

How to delete your data

Anyone can ask us to delete their data, wherever they live, free of charge. Email moonrisestudiovr@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my data", and tell us your Meta username and roughly when you played online.

We hold no player data on servers of our own, so there is nothing of yours to delete on our side. We will ask Unity to delete the online data processed for the game (your anonymous player ID and anything linked to it), and point you to Meta for data Meta holds. We reply within 30 days. If something can't be deleted, for example because the law requires it to be kept, we'll tell you why.

Uninstalling the game deletes everything it stored on your headset, including the sign-in for your anonymous online player ID. Your Meta account data is managed by Meta: see Meta's privacy settings and tools.

Your other rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or port your data, or to object to or restrict how it's used. Email us to use any of these rights. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

The game is meant for players aged 13 and over. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used the online features, email us and we'll have the related data deleted.

Security

We keep data to a minimum and hold none on servers of our own. Our providers protect the data they process with industry-standard measures. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us if you spot a problem.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, say so in the game's store listing or release notes.
